New Tools for Comparing Colleges and Financing Options

Comparing colleges and financing options can be a difficult task. But, these new resources can help make that process a little easier and help you understand your options for reducing your long-term debt!

  1. The College Affordability and Transparency Center
    • Developed by the Deparment of Educaton, this resource allows you to compare colleges based on tution rates, programs of study and how fast costs are rising. You can even compare two and four-year programs to see what program is right for you!
       
  2. The Financial Awareness Counseling Tool (FACT)
    • Also created by the Department of Education, this website provides tools and information to help you understand your financial aid and assist you in managing your finances. It provides an instant snapshot of a student's federal loan debt and allows private loans to be manually entered to compare your unique financial situation.
    • Recently featured in the a Huffington Post article.
  3. Net Price College Calculators
    • The US News and World Report has compiled a list of calculators from about 300 of the top National Universities and National Liberal Arts Colleges. Although not every college is included, it's a great start to understanding the true cost of education.
